A camp designed to view and prepare for IMC. Athletes will have the opportunity to preview the whole course during the weekend. Coach lead swim, bike and run workouts throughout the weekend. Q and A sessions during group dinners at local restaurants. Swim, bike and run on portions of the IMC course, preview Richter pass and Yellow lake climbs as well as the decent down to Penticton. Swimming will take place in Osoyoos Lake and Okanogan Lake, running will be in Osoyoos on portions of Desert Half Ironman course and out of OK falls at the marathon turn around heading back towards Penticton.
Camp Includes:
Supported workouts with USAT coaches and group leaders
Group meals for athletes to mingle and Q and A session with USAT Coaches
and group leaders
ECMT team swag and sponsor gear giveaways
Great training on IMC course
Cost: $150
covers all coached workouts, access to coaches for Q and A, and support
for all workouts.
Athletes
Requirements:
Sufficient fitness levels to
complete open water swims, long endurance ride (80-112 miles),
transition runs (bricks 30-50min)
and long run (8-13 miles).
You are responsible for your own meal costs, lodging expenses,
equipment, and nutritional needs for all workouts.
Provide transportation to Osoyoos BC or arrange car pool.
Schedule
Friday: May 2nd
Arrive in Osoyoos between 4-9pm
Check in at local hotels and athlete meeting to discuss weekend training
camp
Establish training groups and support
Q & A regarding the weekend camp and Saturday’s workout
Hand out riding maps and other supplies
Sleep
Saturday: May 3rd
07:00 - 09:00: Athlete breakfast at local restaurant
or on own
09:30 - 03:30: Ride the IMC bike course.
Athletes have the choice of riding the whole
course from Osoyoos up to Penticton and back.
Alternate routes will be available depending
on conditions and riders preference.
03:30 - 04:00: Optional transition run in Osoyoos following the
bike course on the Desert half Ironman race course.
05:00 - 07:00: Group dinner at local restaurant.
Q & A for athletes and discussion for
Sunday’s workouts.
Sleep.
Sunday: May 4th
07:00 - 09:00: Athlete breakfast on own or at local
restaurant, check out of hotels.
10:00 - 11:00: Swim in Osoyoos lake varying length depending on
conditions and athlete preference.
11:30: Drive to Okanagan Falls for long run or stay in Osoyoos for group
run on Desert Half Ironman course.
01:30: Athlete lunch and debrief from training camp at local restaurant
or park.
02:30: Depart for home.
End of camp.
